Supply chain & WMS Senior Consultants/ Project Managers

General Summary

Senior Consultants/ Project Managers provide support throughout a customer implementation, ongoing support and process improvement.  They are focused on a building expertise for all products that SCJ sells and delivering that expertise to end customers. They are also focused on managing customer relationships, mentoring junior consultants and managing/ developing consultant utilisation.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities/knowledge

  • Performs testing, configuration, deployment, detailed design, ongoing process improvement, training and ongoing support in a timely manner. A majority of time is spent onsite working directly with the customer project and support team.

 

  • Proactively troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise during the implementation and support cycle.  Updates and maintains the project issues list, which includes prioritizing and closing off the issues. 
  • Works with customer to test and implement interfaces between MA products or external systems. 

 

  •  Leads project status meetings.
  • Can write reports, queries and extracts in a timely manner to provide the customer with relevant performance information

 

  • Works directly with the customer to ensure on-going consultant utilisation
  • Provides ongoing mentoring to the customer

 

Project Role

  • Individual Independent Contributor. May review the work of others
  • Meets utilization expectations

Skills/Qualifications

  • Senior-level professional contributor
  • Typically requires BS/BA or higher in Engineering or Computer Science and/ or 5+ years of experience in related field
  • Adheres to best practice processes and procedures
  • Ability to generate billed work for consultants
  • Clear, proactive communication is key

Scope of Impact/Degree of Independence

  • Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments that have direct impact on customer operations.  Receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues
  • Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may cause direct issues in customer operations and SCJ operations

Decision-Making Authority

  • Performs professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Identifies problems and possible solutions and takes appropriate action to resolve
  • Plans most aspects of work within specified deadlines with some need to change the priorities
  • Independently completes tasks at hand

Technical Knowledge

  • Possesses and applies broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular product or platform to the completion of moderately complex assignments
  • Has basic to mid level knowledge of additional products or platforms (Crystal, Cognos, SQL)

Client Relationship Skills

  • Responds to client requests for information in a timely and clear manner
  • The senior consultant is the first point of contact for client functional, process and improvement requests

Corporate Contribution

  • Participates in training to enhance skills necessary to be a valuable team member
  • Assists with practice administrative tasks (time and forecast entry)
  • Mentors junior consultants
  • Proactively ensures that the consulting team is fully utilised
